I am a semi-retired massage therapist. When I'm not working I can be found in unique locations, walking my dog Arlen. Arlen is a reactive, senior, bully breed who cannot cover as many KMs as I can in a day.  

 

I have dedicated the extra space in my days to educating myself on canine behaviour.  I advocate for humane, fear free and evidence informed treatment.  My dog walking style puts an emphasis on enrichment and positive mental stimulation.  I use a 30 foot leash to allow freedom in the environment.   I use treats and positive vocal reinforcement to reward good behaviour.  I avoid dangerous settings and redirect attention when required.  This type of walking is known as a decompression walk (Sarah Stemming). DW’s serve as vital stress relief and can facilitate improvements in a dog’s behaviour health.
